Yes, I love it when parents don’t demean blue collar labor or play it as some sort of punishment for sub par grades.

Also being a sanitation worker is actually very dangerous.  It’s the fifth most dangerous job in the US.  Significantly more dangerous than being a cop (which doesn’t even make the top ten), they often die or are seriously injured in the line of duty, also before we had sanitation workers numerous illnesses ran rampant (like cholera and typhus and all sorts of other horrible shit) because of all the horrible crap left to decay all over the place and in the water supply and everywhere.

They literally risk their lives to protect the public.

Heroize sanitation workers and not cops.

I also really love sanitation workers. I pass a recycling guy a few times a week and he always tips his hat to me and it just delights me.
